A Mac app for YouTube videos

Your screen, your face, and a rewind button.

Start full-face on camera, switch to your screen with yourself in a bubble, and when you fumble a sentence, go back 30 seconds and say it again. AI writes the on-screen text, the chapters and the description.

Layouts

Three shots. One key each.

Open on your face, cut to your screen with you in the corner, go full screen for the details. Switch while you talk, from any app, and change your mind later in the editor: every layout is re-rendered at export.

Camera

Full frame, for the hello and the wrap-up.

⌃⌥1

Screen + Me

Your screen with you in a round bubble. Any corner, three sizes.

⌃⌥2

Screen

Nothing but the screen, for the close-up work.

⌃⌥3

Move the bubble to the next corner with ⌃⌥C. Start and stop with ⌃⌥R.

Go back

Fumbled it? Take back the last 30 seconds.

Press ⌃⌥B and My Recorder stops, cuts the last 30 seconds and shows you where you are. Watch it back, then Retake from that point or Resume at the end. Your take stays one video, with no editing session afterwards.

The control bar also goes back 10 seconds or a whole minute. Need to add something in the middle? Put the playhead there and press Retake.

AI

The words on screen and under the video, written for you.

My Recorder transcribes what you said on your Mac. Ask for an overlay in plain words and AI writes it from what you just said. When you are done, it writes the YouTube title, description, tags and chapters.

AI runs through OpenRouter with your own key, using the model you pick in Settings. Only the transcript text goes out, and only when you ask.

And the rest

Small things that save a retake.

System audio

Record the sound of a demo or a video along with your voice, with its own volume slider.

Background blur

Blur the room behind you. It is worked out on your Mac and can be switched off after recording.

Screen area

Hide the menu bar, or draw around the part that matters, like a web page without its tabs.

MP4 up to 4K

Export at 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 2160p, in the format YouTube asks for.

Out of the shot

The control bar floats over your apps but never appears in the video.

FAQ

Questions

Does it cost anything?

The app is free. AI features use your own OpenRouter key, so you pay OpenRouter for what you use, usually a fraction of a cent for a video's description and chapters.

Do I need AI to use it?

No. Recording, going back, layouts, blur, overlays you type yourself and export all work without a key. Paste a key in Settings when you want AI to write for you.

What leaves my Mac?

Your video, audio and camera stay on your Mac. Speech is transcribed on the Mac by macOS. When you ask AI for an overlay or YouTube details, the relevant transcript text goes to OpenRouter and the model you chose. Nothing else is sent, and this website keeps no record of who downloads.

Which languages does the transcript understand?

The ones macOS speech recognition supports, such as English, Norwegian, Swedish and German. Set the language in Settings.

Can I change the layout after recording?

Yes. The timeline shows where each layout starts. Add or remove switches, change the bubble's corner and size, crop the screen, or turn blur on or off, and the video is rendered again when you export.

Why macOS 26?

My Recorder uses the screen capture and on-device speech recognition built into macOS 26 Tahoe. That keeps the app at 2 MB with no extra downloads.
